On December 02, 2012, the annual HAPI-C Christmas Party was held at the Gymnasium at the Perpetual Succour Hospital, making it the 2ndtime in a row. Over 250 members old and new attended the event.
After the holy Catholic mass, the Christmas Party officially started and the Fidelis Choir from the Redemptorist Parish serenaded the HAPI-C community with Christmas carols.
Ms. Lorena Santos, medical technologist from PHF, came to the event for the annual Cebu Outreach for Free Factor Assay. A total of 28 suspected patients from Cebu province and other islands were tested, most being relatives of already diagnosed patients and some of them from doctors’ referrals. Ms. Santos was had help from the med-techs of Perpetual Succour Hospital’s lab dept. and also Dr. Lynda Mae Lepatan.
This year’s Christmas party had the most intermission numbers, with more members from different cities and municipalities across Visayas volunteering to perform in front of the audience. There were over 15 performers, as individuals or in groups, children and parents alike. There were also several games between the intermission numbers.
Part of the event was also the raffle draw of HAPI-C’s first ever raffle ticket fund-raising event. 10 consolation prizes were given. Incidentally, the 1st and 2nd prize winners were HAPI-C patients themselves who were present during the party. The 3rd prize winner was a schoolmate of another patient.
HAPI-C would like to thank the Perpetual Succour Hospital for its continuous support to the haemophilia community in the Visayas; the Philippine Hemophilia Foundation for the factor assay outreach program; to the benefactors of the lunch packs, drinks, giveaways, & party goods; the volunteers for their dedication and the members for their participation; and to everyone else who made this event possible. Happy Holidays!
